Filodoro Calze Spa is situated in the north of Italy in Casalmoro in the province of Manatova, which is the heart of the most important industrial area of Europe for the production of ladies pantyhose.

In May 1993, Filodoro became part of the multinational Sara Lee.
In December 2003, Filodoro became part of the Golden Lady group.
Filodoro produces and sells six lines of ladies stockings, pantyhose, hold-ups, knee-highs and socks through retail, wholesale and mass distribution sales channels, aimed at different sections of the market. We also have offices in Spain and France and 37% of our production is exported.
We also produce for private labels, which are becoming an important part of our production. The entire production process plus quality control, the finance, administrative, sales, marketing, supply chain and human resources functions are all located in Casalmoro. |

What are the principles behind Filodoro's success?
1. Quality. The customer is king. Quality is our guiding principle and giving our customers value for money is our objective.
2. Rensponsibility. Each of us is responsible for our particular task but working as a team means sharing the responsibilities of the group.
3. Reciprocal Benefit. To be reciprocal, the benefit must be shared. Only in this way will it continue in time.
4. Efficiency. We invest in our resources, waste nothing and do what we know how to do best.
5. Freedom. We have the freedom to build for our future. Every day we grow in order to maintain that freedom. |

The Production Cycle
The production process of ladies stockings and pantyhose in synthetic fibre is standard. There are many companies, which are only specialized in one or two of the production phases involved in producing stockings and pantyhose. If we consider the acquisition of yarn as a preliminary phase, the production process can be broken down into 5 phases:

Friday 12th December (2003), Filodoro is Italian again.
Filodoro, which generated approximately US$ 83 million in sales in fiscal year 2003, with its two plants in Casalmoro and Calvatone, exits the Sara Lee Group to enter the Golden Lady Group.
The Lombard group, with its sales of 300 million euro, has approximately 43% of the Italian market share, and the 18% market share of the US market (thanks to its local subsidiary Kaiser Roth)
With this acquisition, that includes also Filodoro’s Spanish and Portuguese hosiery business, the group aims to “exploit the synergies from the purchase, logistic, productive and trade points of view, while the commercial structures will be kept independent”, due to the fact that the Filodoro, Philippe Matignon and Filoverde brands are positioned on different market segments than Omsa, Sisi and Golden Lady.
Roberto Veneziani declares to be satisfied with the operation and mentions that: “the value of our company is unquestionable and it is a fruit of the work of all of us, and all this surely will result evident to the experts of this sector. Regarding our company it is not possible to talk about a crisis, outside the general one affecting this market sector, and the best way to look at the market at the moment is from the position of the leader.”
In fact, after this operation, approximately one out of two tights sold on the Italian market will be labelled with a brand belonging to the Golden Lady Group. |
